Online Public Records Search and UCC Search Tool. Using the Internet and Web, most states allow free online access to government databases to obtain information about existing businesses, corporations, nonprofit corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships and other legal entities, including Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings. It is also possible to obtain forms for articles of incorporation, amendments, mergers, fictitious names, trademarks, and many other filing forms from the same web sites. (Users are cautioned to obtain legal advice from a lawyer familiar with the laws of that state before using any form.) Links to more specific web pages for all fifty states and the District of Columbia can be found at www.governmentfilesonline.com founded by Florida lawyer James W. Martin:
